GB200 NVL72 is a rack, not a server. Seventy-two Blackwell GPUs and thirty-six Grace CPUs are connected as a single NVLink domain and delivered liquid-cooled as one unit, giving a coherent memory space far larger than any individual node can offer. It is the platform for models that do not fit inside an eight-GPU server, and it is a facility project as much as a hardware purchase — the power density, floor loading and facility water need scoping before anything is ordered.

What does our data center need before we can take one?

Facility water for direct liquid cooling, the power density to feed the rack, and floor loading to carry it. This is the part of a Blackwell rack-scale project that takes longest and it should be scoped before any hardware is ordered. We will walk through your site constraints first, and we will tell you plainly if the answer is that the room is not ready.

Can we start smaller and grow into this?

Usually the better path. Prove the workload on HGX B200 or DGX B200 nodes, which rack conventionally, then commit to rack-scale once utilisation and the facility work justify it. We will design the fabric so the first purchase is not stranded when you scale.

How is DGX quoted and delivered?

As a configured system rather than a boxed part. We confirm the exact platform revision, the networking and storage around it, rack power and cooling requirements, and the support term, then issue an itemised quote. Current availability and lead time are stated on that quote — accelerator allocation moves, and any figure published on a web page would be wrong for most buyers by the time they read it.

Should I buy DGX or an HGX system from Dell, Supermicro or HPE?

The GPUs and the NVLink fabric are the same silicon either way. DGX gives you one vendor accountable for the whole stack including the software environment, and is the designed unit if you are heading toward SuperPOD. An HGX system from a server vendor gives you your existing management tooling, support relationship and configuration choices. If your operations are already standardised on Dell or HPE, that consistency is frequently worth more than it looks on a spreadsheet. We supply both and will tell you which fits.
