Will this work in my switch?

This one is Ubiquiti UniFi coded. Optics and DAC carry vendor EEPROM, and a switch that does not recognise the coding will usually disable the port rather than negotiate a lower speed. Tell us the switch model and we will supply it coded correctly.

How far will 25G SFP28 SR 850nm reach?

Up to 100m over Multimode OM4. That is the specified maximum on clean fibre with in-spec connectors; a run with several patch panels in it should be planned shorter. The connector is SFP28. Send us the distance and the fibre type and we will confirm the right optic.
