Overview

QNAP Enterprise NAS delivers fast, flexible network storage with strong performance options including all-flash and high-speed networking. Nexus Compute specifies and sources QNAP configurations for teams whose storage needs lean toward performance: media production, virtualization, and data-heavy workflows. Performance work of this kind is where the difference between capacity and throughput becomes concrete. A shuffled training data loader, a video editor scrubbing a timeline, and a virtualization host are all asking for many small reads at once rather than one large sequential stream, and that concurrency is what flash serves well and mechanical disks do not. It is also where the network stops being an afterthought: past a certain point an all-flash array can serve more than the client links can carry, and the bottleneck quietly moves from the disks to the wire. We size flash, drive count, and network together for that reason. For an AI team this is a sensible place to stage datasets and hold results close to the compute; the parallel storage that keeps a multi-node training cluster fed is a different design and is specified with the cluster at /products/gpu-servers.
