Will the H965i PERC fit my server?

This is a Low-profile / front PERC card on 12Gb/s SAS. It needs a free slot of that width and electrical lane count — a x16 card in a x8-wired slot will train at half speed, and some platforms reach the card only through a riser that has to be ordered with it. Send us your server model and we will confirm slot availability, riser and bracket height, power connectors and the firmware level before you order — that check is part of every order we ship.

RAID controller or pass-through HBA?

This one does hardware RAID — 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 — in a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot, with 8GB of cache. If you are running software-defined storage instead, ask us for the pass-through HBA version: raw disks are what that stack expects.
