NVIDIA Partner Network Explained: How to Buy from an Authorized Reseller
The NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN) governs who can legitimately sell NVIDIA GPU hardware and software to enterprise customers. Understanding how NPN tiers work helps procurement teams identify qualified resellers, avoid unauthorized channels, and access the full value of NVIDIA's ecosystem.
Most enterprise buyers know they should purchase NVIDIA hardware through an authorized channel — but fewer understand what the NVIDIA Partner Network actually is, how it is structured, and what privileges different partner tiers carry. This knowledge is directly relevant to procurement: the tier of your reseller determines their allocation access, their ability to sell NVIDIA software, and the warranty coverage your hardware will carry.
NPN Tier Structure
The NVIDIA Partner Network is organized into several program tracks. For enterprise hardware procurement, the most relevant are the Solution Provider program (covering resellers and value-added resellers) and the Elite and Select tiers within it. Elite-tier partners receive the highest allocation priority, access to NVIDIA's deal registration system which protects pricing on named opportunities, dedicated technical resources, and eligibility to resell the full NVIDIA AI Enterprise software portfolio. Select-tier partners have more limited allocation access and fewer dedicated resources.
- Elite Solution Provider: highest GPU allocation, deal registration, AI Enterprise software authorization, dedicated NVIDIA resources
- Select Solution Provider: standard allocation access, basic software resale rights, self-serve support
- OEM Partners (Dell, HPE, Lenovo): manufacturer-level allocations embedded in system configurations
- Cloud Service Provider partners: relevant for hybrid deployment models
What NPN Authorization Covers
NPN authorization means the partner has agreed to NVIDIA's partner code of conduct, has demonstrated technical competency (typically via certified engineers), and is authorized to sell specific product families. Authorization is specific — a partner authorized to sell Quadro/RTX workstation products may not be authorized to sell HPC and data center products. When evaluating a reseller for H100 or data center GPU procurement, verify that their authorization explicitly covers Data Center products, not just professional visualization.
Verifying a Partner's NPN Status
- Visit the NVIDIA Partner Locator at nvidia.com/en-us/about-nvidia/partners/find-a-partner/
- Search by the partner's company name and verify that their listed authorization matches the product category you are purchasing
- Ask the partner for their NPN Partner ID and verify it independently
- Request a sample of their OEM-issued invoice showing NVIDIA as the upstream source
Partner tier determines more than discounts — it determines whether your hardware ships on time, whether your warranty is real, and whether you can access NVIDIA enterprise software support.
